A message from Eganville Minor Hockey President Kevin Seguin
Hello Eagles,
Let me start by saying Happy New Year! I hope everyone’s Holidays are going well and that you are all having a great season.
So far this year, our association is in good shape financially and with a quick glance at this year standings, our teams are in good shape and in good hands with our amazing coaches, managers and players.
A quick thank you to all of our volunteers who make hockey possible in our community, our young canteen staff that provide great service to our hockey families and of course the EDMHA Executive members Gord, Chris, Angie, Chantal, Steve, Jodie, Jason, William, and George. This group works so much harder than anyone can imagine, and with so many moving parts that make the hockey season possible this team works year round with one common goal, to give the kids the best hockey experience possible. THANK YOU!
If I could take a few more minutes of your time, I would like to say that over the past couple of months I have taken some time to reflect on the almost 7 years that I have been involved with the Eganville minor hockey executive.
Over this time, the executive has navigated through some interesting times including, Covid, tragic events for some of our hockey families, large operational cost increases, and most recently the new Ottawa Rep B program that will be on this year‘s to-do list for the executive. It sure has been a crazy ride!
With all of that said, after several conversations with my family, I have made the decision to step down as president of EDMHA. I will enjoy my son‘s final few years of minor hockey and take care of my family and own personal well-being.
I believe I am stepping down at the right time, as you’re in fantastic hands with the current executive. Our current Vice President, Gord Aitcheson will be stepping up to represent our association at all District, League & Rep meetings until a new president is elected at our AGM.
